Working with Consent Scopes
Consent Scopes allow you to define in which "area" a consent or rejection is valid. You can set this setting in menu under CMPs > Edit > Show advanced settings > Consent Scope. The following scopes can be used:
- Global consent - The consent information of the visitor is saved in the global consent domain consensu.org. This domain is shared among all CMPs that are registered with the IAB. Hence all CMPs (not only the consentmanager CMP) can read and write from/to it. Note: This can only be used if the CMP follows the IAB compliance.
- Account consent - The consent information of the visitor is saved on a consentmanager domain and is shared among all websites that use a CMP that belongs to your consentmanager account.
- CMP consent - The consent information of the visitor is saved on a consentmanager domain and is valid for all websites that have this specific CMP code on them.
- Domain consent - the consent information is stored in a first party cookie only and is only valid for the current domain the visitor is on.
Custom Consent Scopes (Enterprise Package only)
A custom consent scope allows you to share consent information across multile CMPs in your account. In order to use it, go to CMPs > Edit > Show advanced settings > Consent Scope and click on Add new scope. Give the new scope a name and press save. Once done, you will find the new consent scope in the select box in your CMP settings. You can now use the same consent scope in multiple CMPs. All CMPs that use this same consent scope will automatically share the consent information with the other CMPs.
